Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
June 2, 2010 - The Dominican Republic hosted a conference entitled "World Summit for the Future of Haiti" in Punta Cana. Attended by high-level representatives from 50 countries from Europe and the Americas, the conference aimed to spur donors to disburse the money they pledged at the March 31 international donors conference “Towards a New Future for Haiti” held in New York; to define the way forward on the Government of Haiti’s Action Plan which was presented at the international donors conference on March 31; and to provide a detailed update on progress to date.
The event was hosted by His Excellency Mr. Leonel Fernández, President of the Dominican Republic.

His Excellency Mr. Edmond Mulet, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti
